Batteries for the propulsion of leisure or industrial vessels

  • Fully electric boats: An increasing number of vessels, particularly small pleasure boats, short-distance ferries, sightseeing boats, and water taxis, are powered solely by battery-powered electric motors. This allows for a quiet, low-emissions, and less vibration-prone journey.
  • Hybrid boats: These vessels combine electric propulsion with a combustion engine (diesel or gasoline). The batteries can be used to:
    • Provide propulsion at low speeds or in sensitive areas (ports, protected areas) in 100% electric mode.
    • Provide a power boost during maneuvers or acceleration.
    • Optimize the combustion engine by allowing it to operate at its optimal speed to recharge the batteries, thus reducing fuel consumption and emissions.

TYVA Energie has elaborated the TYVA Pyro Protection solution (TPP) created by our Engineers to prevent fire propagation in our batteries. Cells are isolated from one another if an overheating occurs thanks to the presence of this technology in our core packs. Thus fire propagation is avoided and we limit the risks of accidents related to lithium.
